Jordan Love, Malik Willis injury news: Who will start at QB for Packers in Week 17 vs. Ravens

The Green Bay Packers host the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday evening in Week 17 and face a significant question at the quarterback position. Starting QB Jordan Love suffered a concussion last week against the Chicago Bears and Malik Willis replaced him in the 22-16 overtime loss. Love is going through the concussion protocol while Willis is dealing with a shoulder injury and illness.

Love has officially been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Ravens. Love went to the medical tent and then the locker room before being declared out for the rest of the game. He was a limited participant in practice all week and was listed as questionable on Thursday’s final injury report before being downgraded to out on Friday.

Head coach Matt LaFleur initially said the team would know a day before Saturday’s game if Love would play. However, he retracted that statement, noting how every person deals with concussions differently. A person could be fine one day and then get symptoms the next day. It would appear Love is still dealing with symptoms and thus won’t play on Saturday.

Malik Willis injury update

Willis is dealing with a sore shoulder, but he’s also dealing with an illness. On Tuesday, he was listed as a limited participant on an estimated injury report after a walkthrough. However, on Wednesday during an actual practice, he did not participate. He was upgraded back to limited on Thursday and told the media he expected to be ready if Love couldn’t go.

Fantasy football analysis

The Packers QB situation is a little bit fraught and they face a tough matchup against the Ravens. Now that Love has been ruled out, the starter will be either Malik Willis or Clayton Tune. If you’ve got another option, you should probably consider it. But if you have to use a Packers QB, make sure you have both available. Willis has some interesting upside, but a lot of downside.
