Jake Paul was a scared Disney kid against Anthony Joshua and boxing legends would be cringing at farcical ‘fight’
Jake Paul was stunned and afraid.
He was a YouTuber getting smashed by Anthony Joshua in a farcical ‘fight’ on Netflix.

He was an ex-Disney kid being destroyed by a two-time heavyweight champion, barely able to stand once AJ actually started boxing.
Joshua also hurt his career vs Paul
“I got my a** beat,” said Paul, after Joshua knocked him down four times on the way to a sixth-round knockout.
Of course, Paul ended up with a double broken jaw and post-fight hospital trip, then posted his X-rays and indulged in another round of absurd self promotion.
Of course, Joshua barely celebrated in the immediate aftermath on Friday night inside the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Because what was the point of celebrating a fight that never should have happened in the first place, and only served as a sad reminder of how far boxing has fallen in the United States of America?
Hide your eyes, Muhammad Ali.
Turn off the TV, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson and 20-year-old Mike Tyson.
Paul crawled on the mat over and over, begging for a breather.
The knockout punch fans were begging for
He looked like a 12-year-old brat who had bragged too many times that he could beat up a 16-year-old sophomore, then suddenly been reminded what real fear feels like.
Paul was helpless at the end of the fifth round, and ‘Wake the f*** up!’ was soon yelled in his ear.

The sixth was the ultimate joke.
Paul flailed around in the ring and grabbed Joshua’s legs, then fell over in total submission.
The image of the 6ft 6in Joshua towering over the 6ft 1in Paul was pathetic, and said it all about the sincerity of Paul’s boxing career.
“The fans didn’t pay to see this s***,” the ref said to Paul.
He was on his knees, gasping for air … and adding to his social media clout at the same time.
It was hard for Joshua to celebrate his win
“He knows he’s been hurt, his hands are down,” an announcer said.

With 1 minute and 40 seconds left in the sixth round, Joshua delivered a right hook that millions upon millions of sports fans around the globe had been waiting years for.
“And down goes Paul!” the announcer shouted.
Joshua didn’t even have the pride to raise his arms or announce his triumph from the top rope.
The 28-year-old English boxer simply made a slow throat-slashing gesture.
It was over, Paul was done, and boxing had suffered another punch in the face.
Boxing used to be one of the biggest and most electric sports in a country that was on the way to becoming sports obsessed.

But in the me-first social media age, Paul has been allowed to become boxing’s great disruptor.
Netflix gave him a circus tent with a 58-year-old Mike Tyson in a ‘fight’ that was somehow worse than everyone imagined.
Netflix then followed up that total waste of everyone’s time with a ‘fight’ vs Joshua, adding to Paul’s estimated $200 million net worth on a night when the annoying sight of his brother, Logan, leaping around in the background was impossible to avoid.
“Stop asking me. $267 Million,” posted Paul, revealing the only thing that mattered as he was knocked down four times by a real boxer who could’ve ended the farce in a couple minutes.
NFL and NBA would never allow this circus
The NFL would never consider allowing a YouTube influencer to jump from the stands onto the field, putting on a Kansas City Chiefs uniform and catching passes from Patrick Mahomes in a regular-season game.
NBA owners would instantly kick Adam Silver out of the commissioner’s chair if a social media sensation with 20m subscribers was allowed to wear a Los Angeles Lakers uniform and run the court with LeBron James and Luka Doncic.
It would forever damage the integrity and history of the sport.
It would never happen — and never will.
Only boxing has allowed Paul to ‘fight’ Tyson and Joshua, while the sport has fallen below the WNBA, soccer and MMA in the American consciousness.
Only boxing will allow Paul to break his jaw twice on Netflix, then give him another big fight that barely keeps the sport breathing.
