‘Huge error’ – Atlanta Falcons create new role to hand $300M inexperienced former MVP franchise keys
The Atlanta Falcons are creating a new role within their franchise called the President of Football.
Just hours after firing head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot, Arthur Blank and the Falcons are overhauling the power structure at their club

A series of changes was announced on Monday by Falcons owner Arthur Blank in an open letter to fans.
It’s expected that former quarterback and Falcons legend Matt Ryan will be hired for this new President of Football role.
“Falcons are hiring a new president of football, which many expect to be former Atlanta QB Matt Ryan,” NFL insider Adam Schefter wrote on X.
The new general manager and head coach will report to the new president of football, whose role will be focused on football and we report directly to Blank.
Longtime Falcons executive Rich McKay will remain with Blank’s larger group of family business, but he will no longer be the CEO of the franchise.
Falcons president Greg Beadles will assume the role of team CEO, and he will focus on business operations.
This is a major change in the way the Falcons run their operations, but one that is unsurprising with the team having not been to the playoffs since 2017.
Their eight season absence is second only to the New York Jets in terms of the postseason and fans are already having doubts.
“Bringing in a quarterback who blew the Super Bowl, huge error,” one fan wrote on X.
“Would be a huge leadership add if it happens though, franchise legend bringing stability and vision off the field,” another wrote.

“Matt Ryan knows this organization inside and out. If anyone gets the culture and the expectations, it’s him,” a third word.
Since the 2017 season, Blank has fired three head coaches and two general managers.
