Home-field advantage could be key

The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears have played the most of any team in NFL history and the pair will be looking to write the latest chapter in their long and storied rivalry when the pair meet at Soldier Field in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Green Bay started the season in dominant fashion but four losses in a row to end the regular campaign has put a real dampener on the start to their postseason and that downwards spiral could be set to continue.

The Chicago Bears have taken a big leap forwards under young quarterback Caleb Williams, winning the NFC North for the first time since 2020, and they did it on the back of a strong rushing attack.

Chicago ranked third in the NFL with 144.5 rushing yards per game and also ranked third for 4.9 yards per attempt.

The Packers allowed the Baltimore Ravens to run for 307 yards and four touchdowns just two weeks ago and now, up against a team who are so strong on the ground, that is a big concern.

Expect Chicago to keep the ball on the floor and grind out a victory over their rivals, as Williams continues to cement his place as a legitimate star quarterback.

The home team won both regular season meetings between these two and that trend may continue in this play-off clash.

Bears could pick Love off

Jordan Love has struggled with giving up interceptions throughout his NFL career but he was better this season, throwing just six picks in 16 games.

However, he is facing a Chicago Bears’ defense who led the NFL in turnovers with 33 this season, of which 22 were interceptions.

In this pressure-cooker environment, Love could find himself the latest victim of this Chicago secondary.

Williams may do it himself

Caleb Williams has long been excellent on his feet and the dual-threat quarterback had 388 rushing yards for the season.

He picked up 28 first downs in the process and could add to his tally of three rushing touchdowns, particularly against a Packers defense who have struggled to stop the run of late.
