Former Manchester United star gets new job with Strasbourg after Liam Rosenior joins Chelsea
Morgan Schneiderlin has become Strasbourg’s new loan manager just days after boss Liam Rosenior was announced as Chelsea’s next boss.
The Ligue 1 side have been busy behind the scenes in the wake of Rosenior’s exit to Stamford Bridge last week.

French side Strasbourg wasted no time in his replacement – bringing in former Wolves and Bournemouth boss Gary O’Neil.
And now they have brought in another former Premier League midfielder in Schneiderlin.
The 36-year-old has sealed an emotional return to the Stade de la Meinau having come up through Strasbourg’s academy.
It is Scheiderlin’s first job since hanging up his boots in 2024, where he will be responsible for the club’s day-to-day management of players on loan at other clubs.
He will work closely alongside Strasbourg’s sporting director David Weir to further the development of the stars on the Blue and Whites’ books.

Speaking of his delight at his new role, he told the club’s website: “Returning to Racing is a tremendous joy and a great source of pride.
“It’s the club that trained me, and it holds a special place in my heart.
“My goal is to be there for the players, to support them, to help them in their development and to maintain a strong connection with Racing.”
Strasbourg president Marc Keller meanwhile stated: “Morgan’s arrival illustrates our desire to continue structuring our club.
“His experience, his attachment to Strasbourg, and his knowledge of football will be a valuable asset to our loaned players.”

Schneiderlin made just five senior outings for the club before Southampton came calling in 2008.
During his stay at St Mary’s, he featured in 261 matches in all competitions – helping the club rise from League One to the Premier League.
After seven years on the south coast, he linked up with Manchester United in a £25million deal.
His two-year spell between 2015-2017 proved to be a fruitful one as he won the FA Cup and Community Shield.
Schneiderlin even picked up a Europa League medal – despite being sold months earlier to Everton during the winter transfer window.
Spells at Nice, Western Sydney Warriors and Greek side A.E. Kifisia followed after his Goodison Park departure in 2020.

And on the international stage, he amassed 15 caps for France.
He was even part of the squad that reached the Euro 2016 final on home soil, though he didn’t feature in the tournament.
