Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois talks progressing as target date and venue revealed
Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois is becoming more of a possibility with each day that passes.
Wardley currently holds the WBO heavyweight world title after being upgraded to full champion following Oleksandr Usyk’s decision to vacate the belt.

He is searching for his first opponent for a defence of the crown, with Derek Chisora now ruled out after choosing to face Deontay Wilder in April.
It was revealed last week that Wardley’s team are now holding talks for a huge all-British showdown with Daniel Dubois.
‘Dynamite’ is looking to become a two-time world champion after losing his rematch with Usyk, and has made public pleas for the fight to happen.
And according to DAZN, negotiations over the fight are moving in a positive direction.
It is understood they are progressing with a view to getting the fight over the line for midway through this year.
The current date and venue being preferred by organisers is May 9 at London’s O2 Arena.
Should Wardley face Dubois at the iconic London venue, it would be his second consecutive appearance since beating Joseph Parker in that exact venue in October last year.
Previous suggestions made it appear as if a stadium like that of Tottenham Hotspur could be considered, but it is clear a smaller venue is being targeted.
Wardley vs Dubois – the latest ahead of a blockbuster clash
A showdown between the heavy-handed British pair will be exactly the needle mover that boxing fans are after.
Dubois will be motivated to get back into the world title picture, after rehiring trainer Don Charles to try and spearhead his potential efforts.

The potential challenger was brutally stopped by Usyk in their July second battle, but he is just 28-years-old.
And a clash with Wardley seemed inevitable with the pair now in the higher echelons of the division.
When addressing the possibility of a bout materialising, promoter of both talents Frank Warren insists it is a fight he is willing to make.
“Wardley will fight in early May,” he told talkSPORT. “It is probably odds on that he will fight here.
“I’m trying to catch up with George [Warren] who has been across it and in contact with both teams.
“I love that fight, if that can be made I think that is a brilliant fight.”
