England will look to end a tough Ashes series on a high by winning the fifth and final Test in Sydney.

Australia have already won the series after embarrassing England by going 3-0 up, but the visitors got one back last time out.

Ben Stokes‘ side won by four wickets to avoid an embarrassing whitewash and reclaim some pride Down Under.

It was a Test that saw records fall, as an incredible 20 wickets were taken on Day One and the win was secured on Day Two.

Now, England will hope to capitalise on potential further chaos to try and bring the series back to a more respectable 3-2.

There has been controversy littered throughout the series on and off the field so far, with the finale sure to have more in store.

A replacement has not been called up for Atkinson.

His fellow bowler Jofra Archer will also play no part after picking up a side strain and missing the Fourth Test too.

Australia are not expected to make any new changes to their squad, with Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon still ruled out.

England vs Australia Fifth Test: What has been said?

“It’s an awesome feeling,” Stokes said after England won the Fourth Test.

“To end up on the right side of a result after such a long period of time is a pretty special feeling.

“At the end there, when all the boys came out of the dressing room, we had a little hug and just said: ‘Finally we’ve won one’. I’m sure later tonight, there might be a few words spoken about it.

“We know Australia is a very hard place to win a game, let alone a series. It will be another four years until England come back here.

“But there won’t be a narrative that we haven’t won a game – that goes back to zero now.”
