EFL manager taunted with brutal chants by own fans as winless run continues
Huddersfield Town fans did little to hide their frustrations with manager Lee Grant following a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic.
Murray Wallace put the Terriers ahead in the 33rd minute, only for his effort to be cancelled out by Australian winger Raphael Borges Rodrigues early in the second half.

Wigan result continues Huddersfield’s bleak run of form
The result marked Huddersfield’s fifth-straight game without a win and left them eighth in the League One table.
Grant’s side have also won just three league matches since September 6, an alarming run for a team with aspirations of returning to the Championship.
And Huddersfield supporters made their feelings towards Grant known following the latest match in which they threw away three points.
Chants such as ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ and ‘you don’t know what you’re doing’ were hears around the Kirklees Stadium.
There were also boos when Grant chose to take off star striker Alfie May and attacking dynamo Leo Castledine with over 10 minutes remaining as they chased all three points.
Lee Grant reacts to Terriers fans’ chants
Speaking to BBC after the match, Grant said his team ‘have to be’ understanding of the crowd’s reaction and they needed to ‘take care of our end of the bargain’.
“That is be resolute, defend the goal, keep clean sheets, games that are there for us to win, win the games,” Grant said.
“Don’t turn over two points readily at home in games we have to be prepared to go and win and take on and attack.
“So for me, there’s always an understanding if we fall short of our levels and the levels that we demand and set for ourselves and demand from our players. There’s always a readiness to accept whatever comes our way externally.
“But the drive and determination has to come internally from this group to be at their level more often.”

Grant added there’s a ‘nervousness’ among his players.
“Right now, the group are putting a lot of pressure on themselves in terms of they want to win and they want to keep the ball out of the net,” Grant said.
“I think there’s a realisation that they’ve not done it often enough.
“Of course, we’re putting a high demand on the group in terms of challenging them and demanding from them that they’re ready to do their job and step up in the big moments.
“But right now, what we’re seeing is too many and too often we’ve fallen short of our own standards on that.”
Worrying signs for Huddersfield
Although they remain within touching distance of the play-off spots in the third tier, Huddersfield’s performances have provided major cause for concern.

Grant’s side boast the equal second-worst defensive record in the league having conceded 30 times alongside Leyton Orient, with only relegation-threatened Plymouth Argyle shipping more (32).
Huddersfield have also failed to keep a clean sheet in league action since September 27.
Luckily for the Terriers, their defensive frailties have been masked by the fact they are the equal-top scorers alongside league leaders Cardiff City with 32.
Grant, who was appointed by the Terriers in May, will look to snap the five-game winless streak on December 20 when they travel to Rotherham United.
