Porter Martone, chosen No. 6 general by the Philadelphia Flyers within the 2025 NHL Draft, will delay signing to play for Michigan State within the 2025-26 season, Sportsnet reported Monday.
The Canada native spent final season taking part in for the Brampton Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League and tallied 98 factors (37 objectives, 61 assists) in 57 video games. He added 9 factors (4 objectives, 5 assists) in six playoff video games.
The Flyers will retain the draft rights to the 18-year-old ahead.
“We’re conscious of the studies surrounding Porter and can help what he decides to do,” Flyers basic supervisor Danny Briere advised The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Spartans received the Large Ten title in 2024-25 and have been the No. 2 seed within the NCAA Event however misplaced to Cornell within the first spherical.
The Flyers completed final season with a 33-39-10 file (76 factors) and haven’t made the Stanley Cup playoffs for the reason that 2019-20 season.
