The Cincinnati Reds acquired third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes from the Pittsburgh Pirates for left-hander Taylor Rogers and a minor league infielder on Wednesday.
Hayes, 28, is a robust defensive participant who batted .254 with 39 homers and 212 RBIs in 576 video games with the Pirates over elements of six seasons. He received the Nationwide League Gold Glove for third basemen in 2023.
This season, he’s hitting .236 with two homers and 36 RBIs in 100 video games.
Hayes is within the midst of an eight-year, $70 million extension that runs via 2030.
