Washington Capitals middle Nic Dowd signed a two-year, $6 million contract extension Wednesday.
Dowd, who turns 35 on Might 27, has recorded career-high totals in objectives (14), factors (27) and video games performed (81) this season.
He was set to change into an unrestricted free agent this summer season.
