DAZN forced to apologise multiple times during X-rated Deontay Wilder vs Derek Chisora press conference

Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder’s final press conference was far from PG.

The heavyweight titans met at York Hall on Thursday night ahead of their shootout at the last chance saloon this weekend – seven miles down the road at the O2 Arena.

Chisora turned up to the event in a tank with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage by his side, while Wilder was over an hour late due to the heavy London traffic.

When they eventually took to the stage, an excitable Chisora dropped the F-bomb at least 30 times as DAZN‘s Adam Smith apologised profusely.

“I’m so ready for this fight, we might not even see round two,” said Chisora.

“I might say, ‘F*** it, let’s go. F*** this s*** man let’s go.’

“I hope he is ready because I’m going to say, ‘Oh f*** this s*** man, let’s just go for this s***.’

“You know what? F*** it, I’m going to do that. F*** it, let’s go.”

Wilder (44-4-1) heads into Saturday night’s fight in serious need of a career kickstart.

The American has looked like a shadow of his former self since his punishing trilogy with Tyson Fury and has lost four of his last six fights.

Several preeminent voices believe Wilder has lost the spitefulness that once saw him reign supreme as WBC heavyweight champion.

However, there appeared to be plenty of intensity behind his eyes as he took to the mic.

“He hasn’t got to worry about my power; he has just got to worry about not seeing it,” bellowed ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

“We know Derek built his name off pressure, but pressure doesn’t break me.

“Pressure only reveals me, and what he is going to feel is something he has never felt before.

“I bring a power that ends bloodlines. Derek is coming to fight, but I’m coming with detonation.

“And in that ring at the O2 Arena, there will be a fight, and it will end with an explosion.” 

Chisora (36-13) is in considerably better form, having won his last three fights over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin.

Yet at 42 years old, retirement beckons, and ‘Del Boy’ has promised that his ring walk this weekend will be his last.

“The O2 is going to be buzzing,” Chisora added. “My kids are coming.

“The only hard thing about the O2 will be that final ring walk, but after the first bell goes, everything is going to be easy for me.”
