Conor Gallagher warned he’s making a mistake choosing Tottenham Hotspur over Aston Villa
Simon Jordan believes that Conor Gallagher should have chosen a move to Aston Villa over Tottenham Hotspur.
talkSPORT understands the the England international is set to sign a five-and-a-half year contract at Spurs and has said his goodbyes to his Atletico Madrid teammates.

The 26-year-old is set to undergo a medical having chosen Spurs over Villa.
Spurs hijacked the move for Gallagher after news of a significant injury to Rodrigo Bentancur emerged.
The Villans wanted to take Gallagher until the end of the season on loan with an option/obligation to buy.
But Spurs have swooped in with a permanent offer for the former Chelsea star, paying Atleti just under £35million.
The midfielder feels he will play more games under Thomas Frank than Unai Emery, and he wants to live in London again.
But Jordan feels he’s made a mistake, as he said on White and Jordan: “It’s okay, isn’t it?
“I mean, a lot of noise was made about him departing from Chelsea because he was one of theirs and came out of the youth set-up, while there were other big-name players being signed for big dough, and Conor Gallagher was being shoved out of the door.
“I think he’s okay. I think he had a fabulous time [on loan] at Palace when they got a real lift from his energy.
“Do I think he’s a world-beater? No. Do I think he makes Spurs better? Marginally.
“Are these the type of signings that are going to catapult Spurs to the dizzy heights? No.

“Would it have been a better move to go to Villa? Probably.
“And this is one of the challenges facing Unai Emery because they have huge financial losses and have already been caught up in PSR.
“They’ve already made a deal with UEFA, so Villa have got difficulties because they can’t compete, and this is the unfairness of it all.
“But I think he [Gallagher] would have been better off at Villa.
“I think he would have done better. Villa are in the ascendancy and are challenging for being inside the top four, and Tottenham are challenging to keep their manager.”
On a wider point, White asked Jordan if PSR wasn’t a thing, would Villa be able to attract the best?

“They would really be able to knock on some doors,” Jordan responded.
Gallagher’s dilemma
In the end, Spurs have won the race for Gallagher’s signature, which isn’t likely to go down well with Chelsea fans.
But he has chosen a club that appears to be on a downwards spiral, with Spurs out of both domestic cups and languishing in 14th place.
They are currently still in the Champions League, but the likliehood of them getting back into it next season is slim, as it stands.
There is also uncertainty over head coach Thomas Frank with results not good enough.
Though, you could argue that Spurs bringing in Gallagher is a sign they are willing to give the Dane things time to turn things around.

Meanwhile, Villla are on track to be back in the Champions League next term.
They are currently third, sitting 11 points clear of sixth, so barring a spectacular collapse, they should be back among Europe’s elite.
Villa are one of the favourites to win the Europa League as well, while the FA Cup represents another chance to win a trophy after they, ironically, dumped Spurs out of the competition last weekend.
