Chelsea v Leeds prediction

Chelsea managed to get back to winning ways on the weekend following their Carabao Cup exit in midweek to deliver a 3-1 victory against the Premier League’s bottom club Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

The win means Liam Rosenior has now won seven of his nine matches since taking over as the new Chelsea manager, with the only defeats coming against Arsenal.

A fourth consecutive league victory keeps Chelsea in fifth place in the Premier League table ahead of the midweek round of fixtures, just a point behind Manchester United in fourth but now four points clearn of Liverpool just below them.

The Blues head into tonight’s bout having won their last three matches in front of their home fans and will be looking to make it four with another victory against one of their historic rivals.

Leeds will be in confident mood ahead of their trip to the capital tonight as they managed to get back to winning ways in emphatic fashion on the weekend with a 3-1 victory over fellow relegation-battlers Nottingham Forest.

The win saw Daniel Farke’s side put an end to a two-match run which saw them collect just one point having previously lost only one of their last 11 matches, and successfully managed to put their 4-0 thrashing at home against league leaders Arsenal behind them from last week.

West Ham’s win on the weekend means that the Whites stay six points clear of the relegation zone but now have three points of breathing space and healthy goal difference separating them from the side they beat on Saturday, and are now level on points with Tottenham.

Leeds have won two of their last three Premier League meetings against Chelsea, but have lost on each of their last seven visits to Stamford Bridge, not having won a game at the Blues’ home in any competition since 1999.

Both sides managed to return to winning ways on the weekend after suffering defeats against Arsenal in each of their previous outings, but Rosenior appears to be building something good at the Bridge, winning all seven of his matches he’s been in charge that haven’t come against the Gunners, and will be expecting to extend that tonight.

Leeds will put up a strong fight at the their home of one of their historic rivals but I envisage Chelsea being too much for them – I’m predicting a 2-1 home win.

Chelsea v Leeds betting tips

Rosenior continues his rise

Liam Rosenior has won all seven of his matches since being named the new Chelsea manager that haven’t come against Arsenal, and has led his new team to three consecutive victories at Stamford Bridge ahead of tonight. Leeds haven’t won away against Chelsea since 1999.

More joy for Joao

Joao Pedro has scored more goals this season than any other player on either team ahead of tonight’s clash.

The Brazilian has scored five goals in his last five starts in all competitions for Chelsea.

Caicedo carded again

Only Cristian Romero has been on the receiving end of more cards in the Premier League this season than Moises Caicedo.

The Chelsea midfielder reached double figures for yellow cards this season in all competitions with his caution in his London derby against West Ham 10 days ago.
