There’s a couple of big London derbies this weekend in the FA Cup Third Round, as the Premier League teams are introduced into the competition.

Squad disparity?

Charlton did have a nice spell in the Championship earlier this season but now they find themselves down in 19th.

They’ve not had a good run recently either losing two and drawing two.

With that in mind and Chelsea’s new manager looking to impress it could be wise to back the Blues to really impress.

Their squad worth alone suggests there should be a huge disparity but that’s often the case with whoever Chelsea play.

But Charlton won’t make it easy and this could be a closer clash than people will be expecting and that’s reflected in the betting giving Charlton just 11/2 odds to win.

Usually when a Championship side plays a big hitter like Chelsea you’d expect at least 10/1 for the lower side to come out with a victory in 90 minutes.

In the last eight meetings between these two sides there have been just one Charlton win and that came in the League Cup in October 2005 where in 90 minutes it ended 1-1 and Charlton ended up winning on penalties.

And that helps toward looking at the bets here, where both teams to score looks likely.

There will still be some teething problems at Chelsea for this one with Rosenior coming in.

But there also should be a bit of a shake-up in the starting XI to what they’re used to whereas Charlton will be well up for a chance to knock them out.
