Brutal fight breaks out in bar at Cheltenham Festival as wild punches thrown
The first day of the Cheltenham Festival brought some incredible racing action, but some ugly scenes away from the horses.
Footage has been shared online of punters getting into a huge fight at the racecourse on Tuesday.

On a day that darts superstar Luke Humphries won £3,000 and Lossiemouth became a four-time Cheltenham winner, things turned violent among those in attendance.
A video posted on X shows a group of men clashing inside a bar, with up to ten people involved.
Punches were thrown and drinks were spilt as the aggressors sprawled all over the room in front of onlookers.
It is unclear whether any injuries were sustained in the fight, but some certainly took a few heavy hits.
And there is to be an update on whether arrests have been made.
The clip has quickly gone viral, picking up almost 100,000 views in less than an hour after being posted at 4pm.
Brawls at Cheltenham have sadly been a regular occurrence over the years, with some gruesome outcomes in the past.
A man in his 50s was forced to go to hospital with a serious head injury in 2024, with another man arrested.
And a year before that incident, a punter was arrested for knocking someone’s tooth out in one of multiple brawls.
Meanwhile, in 2022, a man was left with a bleed on the brain after being involved in a fight.

Cheltenham Day One winners
The ugly scenes at Cheltenham came amid an exciting opening day of the iconic festival on Tuesday afternoon.
Old Park Star won the first race of the week, beating Sober Glory and Mydaddypaddy in a tense affair.
Then, a shock came in the Arkle Novices’ Chase, as Kargese beat favourites Kopek Des Bordes and Lulamba to victory.
Saratoga and Johnnywho were the next two winners on Day One.
And the Champion Hurdle took centre stage at 4pm, as Lossiemouth and The New Lion headlined a strong line-up.
Lossiemouth would come out on top with ease in the end, making it an incredible four wins from four at Cheltenham.

To wrap up the opening day, Madara starred in the 4:40pm start.
And Holloway Queen claimed glory in the last race of the day, finishing ahead of King of Answers and One Big Bang.
