Brentford are favourites for this home tie against Spurs who sit four places below them.

The Bees have won two on the bounce and have now gone three games unbeaten whereas Tottenham have lost two of their last three, winning the latest though, 1-0 over Crystal Palace.

Who can impact the game?

Despite that run of form in January, Tottenham tend to do well on New Year’s Day.

In fact they’ve played eight London derbies on the 1st January and only lost one, winning as many as five which has spanned across much longer.

But they still struggle more in recent January’s which is much more pertinent.

Richarlison scored in the reverse fixture and is on track to beating his best tally of 11 goals in a season for Tottenham so poses a big threat here.

Schade will have the momentum and confidence after bagging a hattrick last time out.

Both of these sides have been conceding far more than usual too so it wouldn’t be a surprise for this to be quite an end-to-end tie.
