Bournemouth vs Everton predictions and betting tips – Both teams looking to bounce back

Bournemouth and Everton both experienced disappointment at the weekend. The Cherries lost 3-2 to Sunderland despite being 2-0 up, while the Toffees were crushed 4-1 at home to Newcastle United.

Will Bournemouth get back on track on Tuesday night, or can Everton collect all three points on the south coast?

Bournemouth vs Everton predictions

Neither Bournemouth nor Everton particularly enjoyed themselves on the final weekend of November.

Bournemouth stormed into a 2-0 lead against Sunderland, as goals from Amine Adli and Tyler Adams put Andoni Iraola’s charges in a commanding position at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland did not give in, though, and Bournemouth were powerless to resist as the home team mounted a spirited comeback to win 3-2.

Whereas Bournemouth had their moments against Sunderland in what was a pretty even game overall, there was little for Everton fans to cheer on Saturday.

The Toffees found themselves 3-0 down to Newcastle United at half-time, as Eddie Howe’s team showed a clinical edge in front of goal that has often been missing for the Magpies away from home.

Everton drew the second half 1-1, but that resulted in a 4-1 defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where Newcastle became only the second ever visiting side to triumph.

The middle portion of the Premier League table (which contains both these sides) remains condensed going into the first midweek round of the season. Indeed, there is a gap of just five points from Brighton & Hove Albion in fifth all the way down to Fulham in 15th.

A run of poor results for any of the 11 teams in that section of the standings would leave them looking over their shoulder at the bottom three. A spell of good form, on the other hand, would have the team in question flying high in the European spots.

Bournemouth and Everton are among the sides whose fate is unclear at present.

The Cherries lost several key players in the summer, but they nevertheless made a strong start to the campaign.

Iraola’s men have gone off the boil of late, however, winning only one of their last six games and taking just one point from the last 12 on offer.

Everton, conversely, had won two and drawn one of their three matches prior to that emphatic defeat by Newcastle last time out.

A win on the south coast would see the Toffees climb above Bournemouth, whom they currently trail by a point. Success for the Cherries, meanwhile, would more than likely see them reclaim a top-half berth.

Bournemouth vs Everton betting tips

Bournemouth welcome Everton to the Vitality Stadium in the midweek round of Premier League fixtures.

Three points for Bournemouth

Bournemouth’s form has dipped of late, but it is only a matter of time before they return to winning ways.

Their underlying numbers are still favourable. Bournemouth rank sixth for expected goals difference, so they are generally playing well.

Moreover, their recent poor results have mostly come on their travels. Bournemouth’s four defeats this term have all come away from home. They are unbeaten at the Vitality Stadium thus far.

Everton will look to make life difficult for Iraola’s charges, but the hosts should be able to break through on Tuesday night.

Goals at Vitality

Bournemouth could never be accused of being dull. Their 3-2 defeat by Sunderland was a frenetic, absorbing, end-to-end encounter which featured no shortage of goalmouth action.

Their 13 matches so far this season have contained 44 goals, the highest number in the Premier League.

Everton are a lowly 17th in that particular ranking, but as the home team Bournemouth will set the tempo here.

Moyes may have to fight fire with fire, so we anticipate a high-scoring affair in this one.

Semenyo on scoresheet

Antoine Semenyo is having a stellar season. The Bournemouth forward did not get on the scoresheet against Sunderland, but he was a constant thorn in the side of the Black Cats defence.

Semenyo has scored six goals and provided three assists in the Premier League this term.

That means only Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Brentford frontman Igor Thiago have more direct goal involvements to their name than the Ghana international.

Semenyo has been linked with a move away from Bournemouth, perhaps as early as January.

For now, though, he is a Cherry, and Everton will have to try and keep him under wraps here. As other teams have found out this season, that is easier said than done.
