Rory McIlroy will look to win yet another prestigious title this year when he headlines the 2025 Australian Open this week.
McIlroy has claimed a host of trophies throughout 2025 including The Masters, The Players, the Irish Open and most recently, the Race to Dubai crown once again.

He is now in Melbourne for another big event as he looks to end his stunning season in style.
McIlroy won the Australian Open in 2023, beating Adam Scott by 1 stroke at Royal Sydney.
A host of other top stars will be in action at the iconic Royal Melbourne this week.
America’s Ryggs Johnston won this event last year while other former champions include Scott, Jordan Spieth and Lee Westwood.
Australian Open 2025: Date and how to follow
This event is taking place from Thursday, December 4 to Sunday, December 7.
Due to the time difference, play will get going the evening UK time before each scheduled day Down Under.
The opening tee shots will be hit at 8:10pm on Wednesday night for UK fans.
It is being held at Royal Melbourne Golf Club – the course is a par 71 and a maximum length of 7,086 yards.

Australian Open 2025: Field and tee times
The 72-hole strokeplay tournament is co-sanctioned by the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia and the DP World Tour and will include 156 players with a 36-hole cut.
McIlroy will headline the field alongside Australian stars Scott, Min Woo Lee and Cam Smith.
Former Australian Open champion Joaquin Niemann will be in action alongside Ryan Fox, Abraham Ancer, Marc Leishman, Carlos Ortiz and Sebastian Munoz.
The full field, tee times and groupings will be announced in due course while the latest leaderboard from Melbourne can be found here once play is up and running.
The prize pot for this event is set at $2million with the winner taking home $289,000.

McIlroy has committed to playing Down Under for the next two years and will be looking to cap off a remarkable year in Melbourne.
