Aston Villa vs Leeds predictions

It’s clear that Villa would be the big favourites for this, not just the fact they’re at home but the comparable form and positions in the table going into the weekend.

But that doesn’t mean Leeds should be ruled out so quickly.

Villa have a chance to make a surprise dash for the title if they sort their consistency out, but they’ve lost twice in their last five league games which has been enough to see their gap between themselves and Arsenal extend to seven points.

Aston Villa vs Leeds betting tips

Head-to-head

Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last six Premier League meetings against Leeds United, including winning each of the last two, 2-1.

The last time Villa hosted Leeds was back in 2023 where soon after Leeds were relegated before coming back for this season, but both results were the same.

The Whites did hold Villa to a rare 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture in the 2022/23 season at home but lost in March 2022, 3-0.

Leeds went unbeaten in three games against Villa from December 2018, spanning across the Championship and then into both of their promotions into the Premier League where Leeds won this 3-0 in 2020.

But everything points to trends and form going the way of Villa, as Leeds sit down in 15th position.

Villa have won over double the amount of games that Leeds have this season and will be after a huge three points in their bid to not only hold onto their top three spot but maybe even start challenging Man City for second and Arsenal for that top spot.

Gamechangers

Ollie Watkins would usually be an easy choice to score here but against Leeds he’s yet to score – that’s despite playing them 13 times (seven in the Premier League and six in the Championship).

He has however assisted two, but has more yellow cards than goal contributions when facing Leeds United.

Morgan Rogers has more goals against Leeds with two goals in just two appearances against them, and those two goals came in the same clash in the reverse fixture.

He’s been on fire and will be looking to be involved again against the Yorkshire outfit, with eight goals and five assists to his name so far this season.

  • Bet on Aston Villa to win at 4/5 on SBK
  • Back Morgan Rogers to score or assist and Villa to win at SP on Betfred
