Aston Villa vs Brighton predictions
Villa look the easy choice here as they sit third, just three points behind Manchester City.
They have failed to win in their last two league games which has made it tougher to not only keep up with Arsenal but even threaten to take 2nd from City.
A couple of wins in their last two instead would see them just three points behind the Gunners so they’re not far off something huge if they go on a big run of form.
Aston Villa vs Brighton betting tips
Seagulls lacking
Meanwhile Brighton are in a bit of a rut now they’ve slumped down to 14th in the table and are finding it hard to see out games to secure a win.
The gulls now sit 16 points behind their opponents which could extend here.
They’ve failed to win in each of their last five Premier League games now with their last such win coming against Burnley on January 3rd.
And prior to that the wins haven’t been very fruitful either, with draws and losses throughout December too including a 4-3 defeat at home when they last met Villa.
Brighton could definitely have a return to form if things go right on the night, but it’s got to be down to Villa once again.
Another goal thriller?
Ollie Watkins bagged a brace the last time these two met, while Jan Paul van Hecke also netted a brace.
Van Hecke opened the scoring and Brighton even went 2-0 up, but Villa fought back with four goals from the 37th minute to the 78th with goals also from Amadou Onana and Donyell Malen.
Morgan Rogers has been involved in four goals in his last five home games for Aston Villa in all competitions (3 goal, 1 assist).
And he’s also been involved in four goals in his last three against Brighton in the Premier League (1 goal, 3 assists).
- Bet on Ollie Watkins to score, Aston Villa to win at 9/4 on bet365
- Watkins to score, Morgan Rogers to score or assist, Villa to win at 4/1 on bet365
