Toss Zimbabwe opt to bat vs India
Zimbabwe captain Josephine Nkomo won the toss and elected to bat in the third ODI against India in Vadodara. It was hot and humid, and Nkomo said it was a good track to bat on.
Zimbabwe, who are 2-0 down in the three-match series, made one change for the final game of their India tour, as right-arm medium-pacer Francisca Chipare replaced Tendai Makusha in the XI.
India captain Smriti Mandhana, meanwhile, said she wanted her side to try and take a few more wickets. Although Zimbabwe scored only 197 and 207 in the first two games respectively, they batted nearly the entire 50 overs on both occasions.
India made three changes: Yastika Bhatia, Harleen Deol and Kranti Gaud came into the side for Tejal Hasabnis, Richa Ghosh and Shree Charani. Gaud played the first match and picked up a three-wicket haul while this will be the first opportunity for Bhatia and Deol in Vadodara.
Bhatia is playing an ODI after two years, however, she recently lead India A in the one-day series against Australia A in Mohali and even scored 112 off 84 balls at No. 3. The last time she played for India in July, Bhatia hit 113 at Lord's in the one-off Test against England.
India won the first two ODIs convincingly after clinching the T20I series 3-0. This is also India's first series in the 2025-29 Women's Championship cycle.
