Coach Luke Fickell's Wisconsin football team scored a 24-20 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions in Week 4 action, outscoring Matt Campbell's team 14-0 in the game's final 15 minutes. Penn State was without injured star wideout Koby Howard, and the Badgers capitalized.

After the game, Fickell described the halftime speech in a Peacock network interview that sparked a 17-3 fourth quarter advantage for the Badgers that won the day.

“It's a sixty-minute game, and we said that from the get-go,” Fickell said in his halftime speech. “It was all about, ‘Hey, do we have the emotional toughness to be able to handle 60-plus minutes. All I said at halftime was, ‘Hey, get us to an overtime, get us to an extra time, let's figure out who we are, and those guys proved to us who we are today.'”

The Badgers won the battle of the passing game by a final tally of 355 yards to 233 yards, riding 235 passing yards from quarterback Colton Joseph and 105 receiving yards from Jacob Harris to the big win. The Badgers outgained Campbell's Nittany Lions 355-233, averaging 5.4 yards per play on offense and holding Penn State to less than four yards per play.

Fickell told Wisconsin fans to enjoy the win afterward after wrapping up the program's biggest comeback since 2006. The Badgers stumbled in their first big game against Notre Dame at Lambeau Field, but are back on the right track with Michigan State on deck for an October 3 game in Madison, Wisconsin. Fickell is still on the hot seat in the eyes of long-suffering Badgers fans, but his team has new life after an encouraging road win that few saw coming.
