The Las Vegas Raiders kicked off Sunday welcoming back star tight end Brock Bowers. They left the 35-27 road win over the New Orleans Saints hitting a rare feat. One that hasn't been seen in nearly 40 years for the now 3-0 Raiders.
Vegas now heads back home gearing up for its biggest game of 2026: Facing the unbeaten hated rival Kansas City Chiefs. This marks new history for the Silver and Black.
“When the 3-0 Raiders face the 3-0 Chiefs next week, it will be second time in Raiders history that they will play a division game with both teams 3-0 or better per Sportsradar,” Associated Press NFL reporter Josh Dubow posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.
Vegas will aim for a far different result when both teams collide inside Allegiant Stadium.
“Also happened in 1977 when 4-0 Raiders lost 30-7 to 4-0 Broncos,” Dubow added.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs present mixed results in this scenario. Kansas City defeated the Broncos in 2003 with a 24-23 score when Denver entered unbeaten. But the Chiefs lost their 1996 contest against previous unbeaten San Diego 22-19.
So Vegas has played vastly different under new head coach Klint Kubiak. Clearly the Super Bowl winning offensive coordinator from Seattle has ignited new energy and enthusiasm in Sin City. Including reigniting a once tumbling career for quarterback Kirk Cousins. The veteran tossed three touchdowns with 248 passing yards in the eight-point road win.
Bowers, meanwhile, looked like his past All-Pro self. He torched the Saints with 10 receptions for 116 yards and scored once in the victory. The Raiders outscored the Saints 13-0 in the fourth quarter to roll past the NFC South opponent.
