After allowing 22 unanswered points in the fourth quarter on Sunday, the Green Bay Packers suffered a 39-22 Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. While there were some bright spots throughout the contest, one notable weakness was the pass protection. It was so poor that former quarterback turned NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky revealed he's concerned about Jordan Love for the rest of the season.

During ESPN's pregame show for “Monday Night Football,” Orlovsky implored that the Packers' offensive line has to improve. If not, the club's 27-year-old signal-caller may not survive the 2026-27 campaign.

“He won't survive,” Orlovsky said. “This offensive line, if they don't get better, [Jordan Love] won't survive. The only reason it's even a game is because he was sensational early on. I mean, just unbelievable throw after unbelievable throw… I think the most concerning thing is it was, overall, team-wise, [a] very undisciplined performance… [A] divisional opponent that [Matt] LaFleur and them should know better.

“If you're bad early, it's a nightmare late against this defense,” Orlovsky continued. “And being bad on early downs, trying to run the football, not sustaining blocks. Leads to all of those pressures. It's a concern that in Week 1 the offensive line, it looked overwhelmed. Overwhelmed against a defense that they should have a better schematic understanding against… It's gotta get better quick or Jordan Love won't make it.”

Jordan Love did play well in the first half before things got out of hand in the second. The six-year veteran finished the Week 1 matchup against the Vikings with 387 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. However, he only completed 50.0% of his throws, completing 21 of his 42 attempts.

The Packers' offensive line will have a chance to redeem itself in Week 2. Green Bay heads to the Northeast, where the team will take on the New York Jets.
