The Los Angeles Rams are currently gearing up for their Week 2 matchup against the New York Giants, looking to bounce back from an ugly loss to the San Francisco 49ers to open up the season. Since then, the Rams have seen superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett be moved to the IL due to knee surgery, which has raised considerable angst among the fanbase.

Recently, former star NFL quarterback Richard Sherman shared his cause for concern regarding the Los Angeles defense.

“The corners you got are great corners, but they have played in (Steve Spagnuolo's) system their whole career, and you don't run to Spags' defense…You don't use a Corvette to Uber. You get in a Corvette, you're racing…you pay them their money, let him do what he was doing,” he said, per Kevin Clark on X, formerly Twitter.

Sherman wasn't the only one to question how the Rams utilized new cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson in their season opener, as Brock Purdy and the 49ers' offense seemed to have no issues moving the ball down the field throughout the evening.

Meanwhile, the Rams are hoping for good news on the Aaron Donald front, as the star, who recently announced that he would be coming out of retirement to rejoin the team, missed the first game against the 49ers but could be back as soon as this week vs the Giants as he continues to ramp up in his conditioning process.

While the Giants are seemingly an easier opponent, they did look impressive in dismantling the Dallas Cowboys last week, so it will be important for the Rams not to overlook them as they head into the matchup.
