Coach Matt LaFleur's Green Bay Packers were held to less than 200 yards of total offense in Week 2, but the team's Lukas Van Ness-led defense picked up the slack in a 20-17 win over the New York Jets. Quarterback Jordan Love was not his usual productive self after witnessing a scary injury to favorite target Jayden Reed.

Following the game, Love spoke at a podium during which he cleared the air on an injury that caused a surprising physical reaction.

“Love said he kept trying to shake out his right hand because he got hit in the elbow and had some numbness,” ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky said.

Love also shouted out his Packers teammate Van Ness, who terrorized the Jets with a team-high ten tackles including 1.5 sacks in the win. “Man, he was flying around all over the field,” Love said. “The defense did a great job. They're the reason, they kept us in it.”

Love spread the ball around to different receivers with Reed out, hitting Matthew Golden four times for 58 yards and Christian Watson four times for 41 yards and a touchdown. Seven players caught passes for the Packers as they overcame a brutal day on the ground (63 rushing yards) to knock off Aaron Glenn's Jets in overtime.

September 24 will bring the Atlanta Falcons to town one week after Kevin Stefanski's team was humiliated by the Carolina Panthers at home. The Packers could face a much better Falcons team if Michael Penix Jr. and/or Tua Tagovailoa are healthy enough to take over at the quarterback position after backup Cooper Rush threw two interceptions in Week 2.

Love might be banged up after his injury admission, but the Packers have enough talent to lift him to greater heights, and another win, in Week 3.
