One NFL insider didn't hold back on the Dallas Cowboys trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in 2025 given their ongoing struggles in the 2026 season.

Dallas turned heads after taking a different direction with the star defender, sending him to Green Bay in exchange for Kenny Clark. The team ultimately failed to make the playoffs, even though Parsons missed most of the 2025 season due to injury.

Insider Brian Baldinger made an appearance on Pardon My Take on Friday. He was critical of the holes in Dallas' defense as he called them out for trading away Parsons, who played a big role in their past success of being in firm playoff contention when healthy.

“They're giving up these tremendous plays, these big plays outside of Quinnen Williams. You're not getting any pass rush. Like they still miss Micah Parsons. Like it was still the dumbest thing they've ever done as an organization. Not after the second year, they should have just signed him up for a lifetime contract and not let them out of the building because you can go trade for all these guys: Rashawn Gary, draft Malachi Lawrence. You can do all this stuff. None of them are Micah Parsons,” Baldinger said.

What lies ahead for Cowboys this season

The Cowboys have issues to address on the defensive side of the ball. If they want to make the playoffs, they must hash them in their upcoming games before this season turns into a disastrous one.

Dallas has a 3-5 record this season, sitting at second place in the NFC East Division standings. They are above the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles while trailing the New York Giants. In terms of the conference standings, they are 13th place. They lead over the Commanders and the New Orleans Saints while being under the Arizona Cardinals and the Atlanta Falcons.

The Cowboys will continue preparations for their upcoming matchup this weekend, being on the road. They take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9 as kickoff commences on Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. ET.
