Ole Miss football has a chance of going far this season, and it starts with Trinidad Chambliss and what he's able to do at the quarterback position. He's shown it since last season, but when the lights were bright against LSU, he dominated, finishing with 363 passing yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

They say comparison is the thief of joy, but when trying to think of an NFL quarterback that Chambliss plays like, there seems to be only one option, and it's not a bad one at all. Eli Manning recently gave his comparison.

“Yeah, it’s hard,” Manning said via DJ Siddiqi of R.org. “It’s hard to kind of put exactly who that comparison is, just because he does throw it so accurate, and whether it’s little bubble screens, whether it’s you know in breakers and slants, that quick release. It’s tough to have an exact comparison to who he is, but also the ability to run and to scramble and extend those plays. I don’t know if it’s a Lamar Jackson type of ability to kind of do all these different things, but it’s fun to watch him play.”

Chambliss has shown the ability to use his arms and legs similar to Jackson, so it's no surprise that he's getting those comparisons. Stephen A. Smith had some even higher praise for Chambliss, saying that he's the Heisman leader.

“If Trinidad's last name was Manning, would he not be the {Heisman} favorite?” Smith said on his show. “Arch Manning can play. I like him a lot, but Trinidad Chambliss, at least on this level, the brother's special. Everybody better step up and recognize this. It's very, very important that you all know it. I mean it when I say it to you. I have him as the leading candidate for the Heisman.”
