The Dallas Cowboys have been known to make trades to improve their team during crucial times, and the one thing they did was acquire Joey Porter Jr. With the deadline approaching, teams are becoming more urgent than ever, such as the Chicago Bears, who traded for Jeffrey Simmons earlier in the week. They now have one of the best defensive linemen in the game, and their chances of contending for a championship have definitely increased.

None of that has bothered owner Jerry Jones, and it sounds like he's going to be on his time when it comes to improving his team.

“Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says on (105.3 The Fan) that he doesn’t feel like they need to make a trade to keep up with other teams around the league. ‘It would have to be a dynamic situation to give up (draft) picks,'” Jon Machota of The Athletic wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

With Jones already making a splash for a defensive player earlier in the season, it's hard to see him do something else while exhausting all of his assets. Just a few days ago, he did say that it was unlikely that they would make another big trade, but he'd pull the trigger if he got the chance.

There has been one player who has been in rumors involving the Cowboys, and it's Patrick Queen from the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the team has had interest in him since the offseason.

“Rumors of a Queen trade persisted in the spring, with the Cowboys among the teams that checked on his availability,” Fowler said. “He's also a 2027 free agent. But the Steelers' status as a 5-2 team likely keeps him in Pittsburgh.”

Things can change at any time, and it would be interesting to see if the Cowboys try to make something happen.
