The Chicago White Sox beat the Cleveland Guardians 3-0 in Game 1 of the ALDS, causing Stephen Vogt to gush about the performance. Vogt's Guardians have chosen starter Gavin Williams for Game 2 at Progressive Field in Cleveland, but White Sox manager Will Venable hasn't chosen his starter amid winning predictions.
Following Game 1's White Sox victory, Jeff Agrest of the Chicago Sun-Times shared an update on Venable's plan going forward, which includes a Sean Burke twist.
“Will Venable didn't name a Game 2 starter, but he said Sean Burke would play a role,” Agrest said.

The White Sox pitching staff is looking strong after Grant Taylor shut the door on their Game 1 win over Cleveland, a feat not seen since 2017. Rookie Munetaka Murakami blasted a record-setting home run in Game 1 that instilled confidence in the upstart White Sox, giving them confidence to beat the Guardians.
It's all coming together for Venable's team ahead of Game 2, although their starter still isn't fully known. Perhaps Venable knows and is keeping it shrouded in mystery or perhaps he is still weighing the pros and cons of all of his options. Regardless of who he chooses, White Sox fans trust him to make the right decisions after another exciting postseason win that will lead into more compelling playoff baseball among the two Central Division rivals.
