It’s always a good week of college football when teams like Ohio State and Alabama hit the road to test themselves against tough conference opponents.

It’s not the best slate of games this weekend, but could that mean we'll see some surprise upsets in week five?

Let’s get into the picks.

#5 Ohio State (-14) vs #14 Iowa Total: 45.5

All I can think about with this game was the Buckeyes' last trip to Iowa City. The Hawkeyes trounced them 55-24 in a spot many thought Ohio State would roll in. I think that’s factored into today’s line, since Ohio State is so much better than Iowa and this game shouldn’t be close.

Bryce Underwood and Michigan turned Iowa’s secondary into Swiss cheese last week despite the upset loss at home. Fortunately, Ohio State is far deeper and more talented across the board. If you live in a state where you can bet on a player prop, take Jeremiah Smith’s over on reception yards, as there's nobody in the state of Iowa that can even slow him down. I love Ohio State and the over in their second big road test of the year.

#7 Alabama (-6) vs #16 Mississippi State Total: 60.5

I fear we are overrating Mississippi State after picking up some okay wins to start the year. The Bulldogs have built a very solid resume this year with wins over Minnesota, South Carolina, and Missouri, but I’m not sure any of those teams are even good. Alabama hasn’t dominated many world beaters, but their big win over Kentucky is getting better by the day.

This matchup comes down to defense, and I just don’t have much faith in this Mississippi State unit. Kamario Taylor might be the best player in the country, but he’s been human. He overcame slow starts in both of his conference games and pulled out wins, but I don’t think you can start slowly against Keelon Russell and the Tide. He’s been one of the more underrated players in the country, needs more respect, and should get it with a big win.

Pick: Alabama -6

Washington vs #18 USC (-9.5) Total: 58.5

Have two teams been more disappointing in college football than Washington and USC? Both teams were expected to be playoff contenders in the Big Ten, but they’re both already facing elimination in the eyes this Saturday. Washington’s Demond Williams Jr. was one of my favorite preseason players, but it appears he hasn’t recovered from his failed transfer attempt this offseason.

I have zero faith in this Washington team. The defense is underwhelming; they have no rushing attack, and Williams is looking to leave after this season ends. I think USC survives and keeps Lincoln Riley from a mid-season termination.

Pick: USC -9.5 and u58.5
