Ohio State football fans watched with excitement in Week 5 as Jeremiah Smith became the team's all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Smith broke the receiving touchdowns record in Iowa City against the Iowa Hawkeyes as coach Ryan Day's Buckeyes secured a 31-14 win, much to the delight of program legends.

The momentous occasion was honored by some of Ohio State's best receivers of all-time including Brian Hartline, KJ Hill and Evan Spencer as they shared their thoughts on Smith's accomplishments.

“I wanna congratulate you bro on breaking every record, man,” Parris Campbell, a former OSU receiver, said.

“Congratulations on the triple crown, it's been special watching you put your name in the record books,” Hill added in a video viewed over 8,000 times as of Saturday afternoon.

The Buckeyes began the day with news of coach Ryan Day's classy message to Iowa's Stead Family Children's Hospital. Day's team outgained Iowa 484 yards to 238, one week after Iowa's thrilling upset victory over the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor. Smith made the extraordinary look like par for the course yet again, racking up 11 catches for 206 yards and two touchdowns in the Buckeyes' Big Ten road win.

October 10 brings a golden opportunity for the Buckeyes to hone their skills against the Maryland Terrapins on the road before a colossal matchup with Curt Cignetti's defending Big Ten Champion Indiana Hoosiers on October 17 in Bloomington.

The college football landscape has changed dramatically in recent years, but Ohio State just keeps on winning. Smith looks Heisman-worthy and Bucks look playoff worthy, but college football is chock full of parity putting the onus on Day's team to stay sharp ahead of more challenging games yet to come.
