Among the thousands at one of Harry Styles' recent Madison Square Garden (MSG) shows was New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, who was having a night out with his wife, Ali.

However, his cover was blown by the “Sign of the Times” singer, who gave the Knicks' captain a shoutout during the show on Saturday, Sep. 12, his ninth of 30 shows at the Garden.

“Madison Square Garden, home of the world champion New York Knicks. We may or may not have the King of New York in the house tonight… Mr. Jalen Brunson,” he said, saluting the captain.

After the crowd showered Brunson with a lengthy round of applause, the pop star slyly said, “He's just trying to have a quiet night out — not a chance. Not in this city. It's like Mickey Mouse going to Disneyland.”

Within the blink of an eye, Styles is almost a third of the way through his 30-night residency at Madison Square Garden. He will continue performing shows on his Together, Together Tour at MSG through Oct. 31. This marks the second tour in a row with a show on Halloween at the Garden.

Styles recently announced a slew of new dates for 2027. He will perform 25 more shows across 12 cities. Most of the cities are new for the tour, but he will return for three more shows at Wembley Stadium from Aug. 25 to 28.

Brunson, meanwhile, is no stranger to MSG. He is one of the few who work at the Garden more than Styles as part of the Knicks. Over the last few months, Brunson has become the King of New York, thanks to the Knicks' championship win.

He was crucial in bringing the Knicks their first championship in 53 years. Brunson was named NBA Finals MVP for his performance in the series, averaging 32.6 points per game. His 45-point masterclass in Game 5 put the San Antonio Spurs away.
