Washington football witnessed star quarterback Demond Williams go down with a ribs injury two weeks ago. Now head coach Jedd Fisch helped reveal who'll take snaps against Nebraska.
And signs point to Williams sitting out one more game. College football insider Pete Nakos shared where things stand on Williams' and Washington's front.
“Washington QB Demond Williams Jr. is questionable this week at Nebraska,” Nakos posted via the social media website X, formerly Twitter.
Washington made the decision to start Elijah Brown against Purdue. The Stanford transfer mostly looked efficient too, hitting 21-of-27 for 302 yards with three touchdowns. However, he tossed three interceptions against the Boilermakers, but still claimed the 38-26 victory in Big Ten Conference action.
So Washington looks ready to turn back to the one-time Pac-12 Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference signal-caller. Brown, though, present more of a pocket passer/pro style QB presence for Fisch and the Huskies. Whereas Williams has hit teams with his mobility and arm.

But the Huskies are desperately seeking a conference win, with UW entering the Cornhuskers game with a 1-3 mark against Big Ten foes. They've joined Rutgers and Michigan as teams owning the same mark during conference play. UW's losses came against Minnesota plus previously ranked Iowa (when Williams had his injury) and USC.
Nebraska, meanwhile, aims to get out of its predicament. The Cornhuskers are 5-2 but have lost their last two games. One more victory makes Nebraska bowl eligible for the third straight season under coach Matt Rhule.
