Steve Kerr was impressed by Yaxel Lendeborg's career-best performance against the Los Angeles Clippers, but the Golden State Warriors coach believes the rookie has plenty of room to improve.

Kerr pointed out that Lendeborg is still learning the NBA game while already making a significant impact.

Lendeborg scored 37 points to lead Golden State to a 124-112 victory on Sunday. He shot 13-of-19 from the field, connected on six 3-pointers, and added six assists as the Warriors extended their winning streak to four games.

Speaking after the game, the head coach explained how remarkable the rookie's production has been given his limited experience at the professional level.

“He's playing this way, and he really like doesn't know the NBA game yet, you know. But the game is still really fast for him, but he's so skilled and so talented that he's making all kinds of plays out there,” Kerr said.

The coach expects Lendeborg to become more effective as he learns to recognize defensive patterns, handle double teams, and understand pick-and-roll situations. Kerr also noted that the forward has significant defensive development ahead of him.
