Offseason Warriors were a different thing, while during the in-season, the Golden State is completely different. The team is reportedly still looking for ways to make the most of Stephen Curry's remaining years in the NBA.

While the team made only minor additions during the offseason, it could have its eyes on a much bigger move next summer. Recently, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that Golden State is among the teams monitoring Nikola Jokic's situation with the Denver Nuggets.

The Warriors reportedly believe they could have enough financial flexibility to pursue a major star in 2027.

“The Warriors are one of those teams out there that are looking around and rubbing their fingers together and thinking, ‘Are we sure Jokić isn't gonna become available next summer?'” Fischer said Thursday on Deals and Dunks.

“They still think that they will be able to attract, whether it be a trade or on the open market, someone big next summer,” he added.

Jokic is entering the final season of his current contract and has a $62.8 million player option for 2027-28. He previously explained that he plans to sign a new deal with Denver next summer and wants to spend the rest of his career with the Nuggets.

“My idea is to sign next summer and stay with Denver for the rest of my career,” Jokic said in July.

That has not stopped other teams from keeping an eye on his situation. The Warriors, meanwhile, could view a potential partnership with Curry as an opportunity to make another championship run.

Golden State has mostly avoided major spending commitments beyond Curry, who is the only Warrior with a cap hit above $20 million for 2027. That could give the franchise room to explore a significant acquisition.
