The Minnesota Vikings will be without Kyler Murray in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears, as he's still dealing with a concussion he suffered in the club's 39-22 Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers. With Carson Wentz stepping in as the starting quarterback once again, it appears Murray has a chance to return in Week 3.
At least that's the rumor going around after Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network shared some intel regarding the 29-year-old signal-caller's health.
He said during the NFL Network's pregame show that the Vikings are expecting Murray to return from the injury for the Week 3 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, due to how well Carson Wentz played in Week 1, and if he continues to look great in Week 2, then Minnesota could have a quarterback dilemma on its hands.
âÂÂKyler Murray is not gonna play today. He did not clear the NFL's concussion protocol,â Rapoport said. âÂÂSo, he is out. Carson Wentz, who came in as relief last week and looked really, really good. Especially in the fourth quarter.
âÂÂHe is going to start, which could, if he continues to play well, if they do win, it will leave Minnesota with an interesting decision next week,â Rapoport continued. âÂÂReally, a great problem to have. Worth noting, Kyler was [the Vikings'] preferred starter in free agency. They are huge fans of him.âÂÂ

Kyler Murray was bounced out early from the game against the Packers after taking a hard hit in the first quarter. Carson Wentz stepped in and looked competent in Kevin O'Connell's system. Wentz helped lead the Vikings to a win, recording 133 yards and three touchdowns while completing 63.1% of his pass attempts.
With rumors already brewing in Minnesota, the quarterback room will be one to monitor as the season progresses. For now, Wentz gets another opportunity to prove himself in Week 2 against the Bears.
