On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings improved to 4-0 with an ugly home win over the Miami Dolphins. The Vikings haven't exactly looked pretty over the last couple of weeks, but they do remain one of the last unbeaten teams in the NFL through four weeks.
Unfortunately, the Vikings didn't make it through this game unscathed from an injury perspective, as starting offensive lineman Donovan Jackson went down with a knee injury and did not return.
On Monday afternoon, the team got the latest update on Jackson's status moving forward, and it was not a positive one.
“#Vikings standout G Donovan Jackson has a torn meniscus that will require surgery and he is out for the regular season, coach Kevin O'Connell announced,” reported NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on X, formerly Twitter.
Article Continues BelowJackson was the Vikings' first-round pick in 2025 after playing his college football with the Ohio State Buckeyes, and he had moved into a starting role this year for the team.
Unfortunately, his progress will now have to be put on pause for the foreseeable future as Minnesota deals with this latest injury blow.
The Vikings' offensive line was already showing some signs of instability prior to Jackson's injury, as the team has now been unable to get much of anything going on offense for three consecutive weeks, earning a similarly ugly win last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Vikings will next hit the field next Sunday for a road game vs the New Orleans Saints.
