The Minnesota Vikings' Brian Flores led defense has led the way into Week 5, with hopes for an offensive turnaround on the horizon after recent Jordan Addison injury news. Odell Beckham Jr. has joined the Vikings leading to a comment from Justin Jefferson amid his expected return from injury.

Jefferson got an injury update from ESPN's Kevin Seifert shedding light on his return status.

“Jefferson, Addison, and RT Brian O'Neill are QUESTIONABLE for Sunday, per Kevin O'Connell,” Seifert wrote. “Christian Darrisaw is OUT. Odell Beckham Jr.'s status for Sunday is TBD. Would need to be elevated but likely won't be in uniform if Jefferson Addison play.”

Jefferson has a left ankle sprain suffered when multiple Tampa Bay Buccaneers defenders landed on it late last month. He is the team's most talented offensive player and his absence could cause serious difficulties on a struggling offensive unit.

Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell is known as a quarterback whisperer and offensive guru, but the team's offense is ranked second-to-last in the NFL, just ahead of the Tennessee Titans. O'Connell weighed in on Beckham Jr. possibly debuting at New Orleans, which could help maligned starting quarterback Kyler Murray.

The Vikings moved on from last year's starter JJ McCarthy, trading him to the Giants, but Murray's performances have left a bad taste in fans' mouths. Week 5 brings a road test at the Saints, who have been led by rising quarterback Tyler Shough. The Saints have the talent to outscore O'Connell's team even with their strong recent performances on defense, but they will have to figure out how to solve Flores' puzzles.

The Vikings need better receiver play in the worst way, and Jefferson is just the man to provide it. If he is able to go against the Saints, Murray and the rest of his team will rejoice. If not, it could be an uphill battle in the Big Easy.
