The Minnesota Vikings earned a 23-16 Week 3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without Justin Jefferson for most of the contest. It was feared that the superstar wide receiver had sustained a serious ankle injury after leaving Sunday's game in the first quarter. However, new reports will have the fanbase breathing a sigh of relief.
It's said that the 27-year-old avoided anything serious, as he was diagnosed with an ankle sprain on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Jefferson's injury is not considered a long-term situation, and he even has a chance to play in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins.
“Good news on Vikings WR Justin Jefferson: He has an ankle sprain and the imaging was good today,” Rapoport reported. “He avoided anything long term and there is a chance he plays Sunday.”
