The Minnesota Vikings faced a difficult assignment in Week 2 as they had to go into Soldier Field to take on the explosive Chicago Bears and quarterback Caleb Williams. The Bears had scored 59 points on the road in their season-opening victory over the Carolina Panthers and their first home game was expected to be something of a coronation for the Monsters of the Midway.

However, the Vikings were having none of it. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores had his unit prepared to keep Williams under wraps. Rainy weather and a soft playing field played into the Vikings' hands and Bears head coach Ben Johnson could not come up with any answers. The Vikings moved to 2-0 as a result of their 9-3 triumph while the Bears fell to 1-1. Flores' defense clearly got the best of Johnson's vaunted offense.

The Vikings were extremely well prepared to keep the Bears from making the kind of big plays that were on display in the season opener. The Vikings were able to chase the elusive Williams for all 4 quarters as the Bears were able to manage just one field goal.

Williams was forced out of the game late in the fourth quarter when he suffered a non-contact hamstring injury while sprinting around left end. He was replaced by Tyson Bagent, and the backup was able to move the ball in the final minute. However, he was sacked on the final play and that allowed the Vikings to earn the victory

Edge rusher Dallas Turner had 5 tackles, 2.0 sacks, 2 tackles for loss and 4 quarterback hits for the Vikings. He was joined by linebacker Blake Cashman who led the victors with 10 tackles and he also had a sack.
