The Ole Miss Rebels were counting on top QB Trinidad Chambliss to lead the way against No. 21 Florida on Saturday. However, things took a turn, leaving Rebel fans gasping in shock and concern.

Earlier in the game, Chambliss was seen on the ground after taking a hard hit while running with the ball, per Chris Vannini of The Athletic. He briefly exited the game, leaving everyone worried he might not return.

However, their fortunes changed when Chambliss came back and made a completion on the opening drive, per Andrew Abadie of The Gainesville Sun.

It's a good thing, too. As this story is being published, Ole Miss trails Florida 10-3 as they go through the second quarter.

In many ways, Chambliss represents hope for a program struggling to bounce back from last season—when Lane Kiffin uprooted and left for the head coaching job at LSU.

The same team Ole Miss defeated last weekend, 32-24, in what the Rebels would see as sweet revenge.

Also, Chambliss is considered a Heisman hopeful this year. So far, he has a QB rating of 80.6 and has thrown for 924 passing yards and 7 touchdowns. Last weekend, Chambliss threw for 363 passing yards and recorded two touchdowns. He also completed 33 out of 43 pass attempts.

Against Charlotte on Sept. 12, Chambliss threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns, completing 23 of 26 pass attempts. In the season opener against Louisville, Chambliss threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns, completing 21 of 36 pass attempts.

Additionally, Chambliss is set to be a top-tier pick in next year's NFL Draft.
