Tom Brady has seen virtually every kind of football injury imaginable. However, even the seven-time Super Bowl champion could not contain his reaction to Jayden Daniels’ gruesome elbow injury Sunday. During FOX’s broadcast of the Washington Commanders’ clash with the Dallas Cowboys, Daniels suffered the injury on the final play of the first half. It happened after he stumbled and attempted to brace his fall with his left arm. The elbow bent awkwardly. It left Daniels in obvious pain before he was placed in an air cast and carted to the locker room.

"Oh sh*t."

When the replay was shown, Brady was caught on a hot microphone saying, “Oh s***,” before quickly apologizing. He admitted he was not expecting to see the graphic footage. Washington later confirmed that Daniels had dislocated his left elbow. Initial X-rays show no fracture. Further testing was required to determine the extent of any ligament damage.

Daniels’ injury adds another painful chapter to an NFL career that began with enormous promise. Washington selected him second overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. He immediately earned Offensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl honors after throwing for 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns while rushing for 891 yards and six scores. He also led Washington to the NFC Championship Game. His 2025 season was disrupted by knee, hamstring, and elbow injuries. That included a previous dislocation of the same left elbow that sidelined him for much of the year. Against Dallas, Daniels was playing well before the setback. He had completed 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown while adding 69 rushing yards. Marcus Mariota replaced him, but Washington ultimately lost 37–20.
