Tennessee Titans rookie running back Nicholas Singleton could receive an increased role Sunday against the New York Giants, with head coach Robert Saleh indicating that he hopes to give the fifth-round pick more carries in Week 3.
Singleton made his regular-season debut last Sunday after being selected out of Penn State in the 2026 NFL Draft. Through his first two career games, he has recorded just four rushing attempts for 10 yards.
However, Saleh said on Friday that Singleton has been good and that “hopefully we'll get him more carries this week.”
The possibility of a larger workload comes as running backs Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears have dealt with injuries during the week. Pollard, who has handled the majority of Tennessee's rushing workload, was limited Friday with an ankle issue but is listed as good to go. Spears, who has taken on extended responsibilities in the passing game, was also limited Friday because of an ankle injury and remains questionable.
Both backs returning to practice Friday could affect Singleton’s workload, but their practice limitations could still create opportunities for the rookie.
Rain is expected at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, and Tennessee has prepared for the anticipated conditions. The Titans will hold a walkthrough Saturday before traveling to New York for their first road game of the season.
