Coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll's Tennessee Titans are 0-4 after a 24-18 road loss to the Baltimore Ravens that included a silver lining from rookie receiver Carnell Tate. Quarterback Cam Ward led Tennessee to 11 unanswered second-half points but couldn't get his team closer than six points as Baltimore won, leading to an interesting postgame situation that came days after brutally honest Saleh comments.
Ward looked impatient at the postgame press conference and threatened to walk out. The situation was captured on film and posted by radio host Jared Stillman, who noted that open locker room interviews were still ongoing at the time of the tense Ward presser.
Ward was the number one pick of the 2025 NFL Draft and was thrown into the fire of competition as the team's starting quarterback last season. Daboll was still in Ward's corner before the game despite his nightmare start to the season, but things are starting to go sour after the latest Titans loss.
Ward took decent care of the football, throwing one interception against a strong Jesse Minter-led Ravens defense, but he didn't make enough plays to win the game, a familiar refrain for a player that is looking more like a game manager than an upper tier NFL starting quarterback.
Tate did his best to help Ward out with and eye-popping nine-catch, 145-yard effort, something most NFL receivers have never done as rookies. Losing to a Lamar Jackson-led Ravens team on the road is something that happens to many quarterbacks, but Ward's postgame presser was a controversial one. Ward and the Titans have games coming up against the Texans, Colts and Browns, which look like potential wins but could end up as losses if Saleh and Daboll's team doesn't right the ship in a hurry.
