Tiger Woods has been spotting hitting balls for the first time since his March arrest.

Footage shared on social media Tuesday (September 15) shows the 15-time major champion on the driving range at Liberty National Golf Club.

Rumors of a potential Woods return surfaced a few days ago, given his TGR Foundation has been hosting the NEXUS Cup in New Jersey.

The exclusive amateur golf event, available to only 18 foursomes, has been running since 2019.

Woods has appeared regularly over the years, but his attendance at Liberty National was up in the air given his latest legal troubles and a commitment to join an important PGA Tour meeting earlier this week.

The venue for this year's NEXUS Cup will also host more competitive action in the coming years.

Tiger Woods spotted hitting at future PGA Tour venue

Last month, the Tour unveiled its schedule for the 2027 FedExCup season, and Liberty National made the cut.

In 2027, the BMW Championship (August 16-22) will roll through New Jersey.

Liberty National was the site of the 2017 Presidents Cup, and a venue that last hosted a FedExCup Playoffs event in 2019.

The BMW Championship will be the penultimate competition of the 2027 FedExCup season.

"We’re excited to bring the PGA Tour’s best players back to Liberty National for the BMW Championship," Vince Pellegrino, WGA Senior Vice President of Tournaments, said when the venue was announced back in 2023.

"This course is no stranger to the thrill of the FedExCup Playoffs, and we know it will deliver an unmatched experience for the players and our fans."

Thanks to the NEXUS Cup, it appears Woods has had some early practice at Liberty National.

Tiger Woods puts legal troubles aside for NEXUS Cup

Earlier this month, the golf icon resolved the case stemming from his rollover car crash in Martin County, Florida, back in March.

Woods accepted a plea agreement that reduced his DUI charge, pleading no contest to wilful reckless driving and refusal to submit to a lawful test.

As part of the agreement, he was banned from driving for five years.

Woods appeared at Martin County Courthouse on September 2 alongside his partner Vanessa Trump -- the former daughter-in-law of US President Donald Trump.

With courtroom proceedings now behind him, attention has shifted back to the 50-year-old's health and playing future.

Footage of Woods swinging a golf club has given fans an encouraging glimpse at a star who hasn't competed in a PGA Tour event since July 2024, and has battled various injuries since.

While the short video doesn't indicate how close he might be to a competitive return, it's a clear step forward for a player who has battled recent issues on and off the course.
