OKLAHOMA CITY — After Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dusted Jared McCain during the first day of training camp, Jalen Williams wouldn't let the third-year guard live it down. Before McCain first full season with the Thunder, Gilgeous-Alexander welcomed him back to the practice facility by out-sprinting him towards the end of camp.

Video of Gilgeous-Alexander's out-running McCain went viral on social media, which caught Williams' attention, per The Suave Report's Addam Francisco.

“Aye Jared just slow tho,” Williams quipped in response to the video.

Jalen Williams said last season that Shai was the fastest on the team and I lowkey thought he was crazy.

Jalen Williams isn't one to hold back with the jokes about his Thunder teammates. And while Gilgeous-Alexander appears to have not lost any burst in his speed against Jared McCain, the two guards were seen practicing catch-and-shoot drills during the opening day of traning camp.

Thunder's Chet Holmgren on his off-season workouts with Jared McCain

Thunder All-Star Chet Holmgren spent time with Jared McCain over the summer. After the Thunder's first day of training camp, Holmgren discussed how McCain impressed him with his work ethic during the offseason.

“He's a worker — you love to see it,” Holmgren said. “He's driving across LA to come play with us… he's a grinder. We saw it last year, but where you really get to see it and notice it from guys is when you get into the offseason. He's very intentional about his work. It was great to be in the gym with him, and get that work in.”

McCain, who was traded from the 76ers to the Thunder before the deadline, is entering his third season in the NBA.
