It looks more unlikely than ever that The Rock wrestles at WrestleMania 43 for his long-awaited dream match against WWE star Roman Reigns.

WrestleVotes on Fightful Select reports that WWE is “operating under the assumption” that the “Final Boss” won't be able to “take part in any substantial storyline” at WrestleMania 43, likely due to his Fast Forever filming commitments.

That leaves the door open for a potential cameo, but it sounds unlikely that he will wrestle. WrestleVotes on Fightful Select notes that things could change, but it's best to assume that The Rock won't be at the show.

WWE fans have waited over a decade to see The Rock vs. Reigns. They may have to wait at least another year before the dream match becomes a reality.

The Rock has not been a featured player in WWE programming since 2024. He returned after the 2024 Royal Rumble, seemingly ready to challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship

However, this upset WWE fans, who started the #WeWantCody movement. The Rock was seemingly taking Cody Rhodes' spot at WrestleMania 43 against Reigns after the “American Nightmare” won the Royal Rumble.

In turn, The Rock turned heel, launching the “Final Boss” persona. His new character blurred the lines between fact and fiction, with the “Final Boss” using his power as a member of the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings.

The Rock and Reigns teamed up to take on Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. They won the tag team bout, but Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Rhodes the following night, ending his historic 1,316-day reign despite The Rock's best efforts to intervene.
