The Denver Broncos entered the win column in Week 2 after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars, 20-13, at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday.
The Broncos used a 17-point surge in the second half to fend off the Jaguars, who were looking for their 10th straight win in the regular season dating back to last year.
Bo Nix went 22-of-31 for 288 yards and one touchdown. He had a field day throwing the ball to Jaylen Waddle, who had eight receptions for 138 yards.
FanDuel TV's Kay Adams pointed out that Nix threw for 9.3 yards per dropback, the highest average for the Broncos since Peyton Manning threw for 9.9 yards against the Arizona Cardinals in 2014.
“That is the Jayden Waddle effect. That is what we expected, why things should be better than they were last year, why last year shouldn't be the floor, and why what we're seeing this year cannot be the ceiling,” said Adams.
“That is what Bo Nix can do when he is able to let it rip and throw it downfield a little bit more. I think this was a huge, huge step forward against a good team.”

She described Waddle as a “game-changer.” The Broncos traded for Waddle in exchange for draft capital, envisioning him as the perfect target for Nix with his dynamic talent. So far, their connection has been impressive.
Waddle bounced back after a subpar debut for Denver, tallying only one reception in their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1.
Adams, meanwhile, noted that Nix appears to be someone who “thrives in chaos,” making him a “fourth -quarter machine.”
Nix, Waddle, and Jonah Coleman will continue to lead the offense against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
